Aces Making Progress
April 15, 2005 - SPHL (SPHL)
Asheville Aces News Release
With the deadline of April 15 passing, the Asheville Aces are happy to report that they are still making progress towards a new lease agreement with the Asheville Civic Center. The Aces are optimistic that an agreement will be made in the near future and that they will skate in Asheville for the 2005-2006 SPHL season.
Although no official negotiations have taken place, there have been meetings regarding a new lease over the past few weeks. Over the course of those meetings, several technicalities were discussed as to the current ownership and the exact amount of past due money owed to the City of Asheville. When these discrepancies are cleared up, both the Aces and the City of Asheville will get together and hopefully work out a new multi-year lease.
The Aces appreciate the patience the Asheville hockey fans have shown over the course of the past month and will provide further details on the future of the team when they become available. If you have any questions, feel free to contact the Aces office at (828) 350-7777.
