
Arroyo provides RBI single in eighth inning rally

El Paso, TX - Sioux Falls Canaries First Baseman Abner Arroyo singled to drive in the American Association's first of four runs in an eighth-inning rally to defeat the Can-Am League, 5-3, in Tuesday's inter-league All-Star Game.
Worcester Tornadoes outfielder Josh Beauregard hit a two-run homer as part of a three-run third inning to give the Can-Am League an early 3-0 lead.
In the eighth inning, with two on and nobody out, Abner Arroyo singled to drive in a run and cut into the Can-Am lead, 3-2. Jake Whitesides of the St. Joe Blacksnakes followed with a two-run triple to put the American Association ahead, 4-3. Whitesides would score on a wild pitch for the 5-3 win.
The winning pitcher was Lincoln Saltdogs' stopper Jerrod Fuell and St. Paul Saints' closer Matt Hammons picked up the save for the American Association. Jose Correa of the Sussex Skyhawks was the victim of the eighth-inning rally and suffered the loss for the Can-Am League.
