Lynchburg, VA- Lynchburg starter Arodys Vizcaino was named Carolina League Pitcher of the Week for the week of May 9-15. Vizcaino pitched seven shutout innings in a start on May 13 against Myrtle Beach. He allowed two hits, and didn't walk a single batter, while striking out six. The seven-inning start was his longest outing of the season, and the six strikeouts tied his season high. The first hit, a single, came in the third inning and was immediately erased by a double play. The next hit didn't come until the seventh inning, and Vizcaino retired the next three batters in order. The start led the Hillcats to an 8-1 win over the Pelicans.

This season, Vizcaino is 2-2 with a 3.18 ERA. He's made seven starts, including two short starts when he was working his way back from injury. He has 28 strikeouts and seven walks in 28.1 innings pitched.

Vizcaino came into the 2011 season ranked as the seventh-best prospect in the Braves organization by *Baseball America*. He was acquired in a trade from the Yankees in December, 2009, and split time in 2010 between Rome, where he was named the team's Pitcher of the Year, and Myrtle Beach. This is his second career Pitcher of the Week award. His first was given for the week of May 17-23, 2010, while he pitched at Rome.
