Argos Sign Ajax Native Keith Gooding

Mississauga - The Toronto Argonauts Football Club announced today that it has signed local product, WR Keith Godding.

Godding, who was born in Ajax, Ontario, played for five years at Bishop's University. As a junior at Bishop's, he was invited to the annual CIS East-West Bowl game and finished tenth in the country in receiving yards (607) as a senior. Godding attended training camp with the Montreal Alouettes in 2008 and 2009. He was a member of the Als' practice roster for part of the 2008 season before returning to Bishop's to complete his final year of CIS eligibility.

College: Started four years at Bishop's (2004-08)...2008: Served on the Montreal Alouettes' practice roster and returned to school in August...Started all eight games as a senior...Finished tenth in CIS with 607 receiving yards...2007 Started all eight regular season games and Led Gaiters with 26 receptions (making catches in all eight regular-season games)...2006 Invited to play in annual East-West Bowl game and caught 2 passes for 11 yards in the game...Caught 20 passes for 348 yards...Caught passes in seven of eight games...2005 Started all eight games...Finished second on the team with 217 yards on 17 catches...2004 Started all eight games as a freshman...Finished second on team with 402 yards on 26 catches.

Personal: Keith was a Sociology major, with a business minor, at Bishop's University. He works for the Toronto District School Board as a Youth Host Facilitator in the off-season, helping students adjust to school-life in Canada. Keith is a boy's basketball coach in the Durham West Basketball Association. He attended Denis O'Connor High School in Ajax where he was a league all-star in basketball and played football.
