Argos head east in support of minor football

Mississauga - The Toronto Argonauts Football Club will show their support for the stars of tomorrow when they hold a special training camp team practice at the Oshawa Civic Stadium to raise money and help grow minor grassroots football in Ontario.

On Sunday, May 28, all Argo players and coaching staff will be on hand to entertain those in attendance and assist in a barbecue that will raise funds for the Oshawa Hawkeyes Football Club. Fans will be able to meet, greet and get autographs from their favourite Argo players and coaches following the practice.

DATE: Sunday, May 28, 2006

TIME: 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. (with barbecue to follow)

The Oshawa Hawkeyes Football Club was established over 50 years ago and has over 500 members, consisting of six competitive football teams and three cheerleading squads. It fields both house league and rep football teams.

The Toronto Argonauts are North America's oldest professional football club, having celebrated their 130th anniversary in 2003. The Toronto Argonauts have 15 Grey Cup championships to their credit.
