TORONTO - The Toronto Argonauts announced today the club has signed American DB Stanley Jean-Baptiste through 2022.
Jean-Baptiste, 29, played in three preseason games for the Baltimore Ravens in 2019 and five in 2018 after signing with the NFL club in October of 2017, while getting in one regular season game during the 2017 season. Between September 2015 and July 2017, the Florida native spent time with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Kansas City Chiefs, Seattle Seahawks and Detroit Lions playing five preseason games in that time, tallying 10 tackles and one interception. The 6'3, 216-pound DB was an original second round draft choice of the New Orleans Saints in 2014 and played in four regular season games for the NFL club that year.
The former Nebraska Cornhusker played four seasons at the Big Ten school (2010-2013), where over the course of 36 games he contributed 74 tackles, 22 pass break-ups and six interceptions. Jean-Baptiste started his college career as a receiver but made the switch to defense in his sophomore year and was named Second-Team All-Big Ten as a senior in 2013.
