
Are You Ready to Doop" Philadelphia Union Launch Countdown to Kickoff

Chester, Pa. (March 19, 2011) - Philadelphia Union will launch their "Are You Ready to Doop - campaign tonight at various viewing parties throughout the area for the club's 2011 season opener against the Houston Dynamo, kicking off at 8:00 p.m. on 6abc. The viewing party is the first in a week of festivities (all free of charge) leading up to the club's home opener at PPL Park on March 26th.
Saturday, March 19, Union Kickoff Viewing Parties, 7:30 p.m.-11:00 p.m.
Come celebrate the kickoff of the 2011 season at seven viewing parties in the Delaware Valley from 7:30 p.m.-11:00 p.m. All locations will be staffed by members of the Union Front Office and will feature contests and free giveaways. There will also be an Open Call to be in Major Molly's Army, the Union's promo team, at The Oakmont National Pub in Havertown. All fans in attendance can cast a vote for their favorite Molly candidate. The Molly candidate with the most votes will automatically earn a spot in Major Molly's Army for the 2011 season. Current Mollies will also be participating in the event. Tuesday, March 22, Meet the 2011 Philadelphia Union 6:30 p.m.-9:00 p.m. PPL Park Come meet your 2011 Philadelphia Union at PPL Park's Club. Players will be available to media from 6:30-7:00 p.m. and doors open to the public at 7:00 p.m. Space is limited so be sure to come early.
Wednesday, March 23, Union Players to Make Hospital Visit 4:00 p.m.-5:30 p.m. Players and other members of Philadelphia Union will visit patients at the Crozer Chester Medical Center to spread a little cheer. Media are invited to attend.
Thursday, March 24, Virtual Scavenger Hunt 9:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Test your Philadelphia Union knowledge while following a trail of clues distributed from our Twitter account, all leading to one final location. The first fan to guess each new location will win a prize, with each prize increasingly more exciting than the last. The final clue will lead fans to an actual location and the first 100 fans to show up will receive a prize. All fans in attendance at the final location will also be entered into a drawing for a grand prize.
