Richmond, VA - Aramark, the food service provider for the Richmond Braves, has announced that it will provide a healthier menu for the 2007 season. The Philadelphia based company, who partners with 13 Major League and 10 Minor League stadiums, has converted to a zero grams trans fat fryer oil. The conversion is aimed at meeting the demands of a health conscious consumer while still providing traditional ballpark favorites.

Beginning with Opening Day of the 2007 baseball season, ARAMARK will use non-hydrogenated corn and sunflower oil containing zero grams of trans fat that provides the same great taste fans have come to expect from their favorite ballpark food. ARAMARK worked with suppliers, dietitians and chefs to identify new oil that offers the best combination of value, performance, taste delivery and health profile.

"While traditional ballpark favorites continue to be the most popular menu items among R-Braves fans, ARAMARK is committed to identifying and providing a wide range of choices that enhance the overall game day experience, as well as promote a healthy lifestyle," said Adam Zann, General Manager of ARAMARK at The Diamond. "By converting to new fryer oil, fans can continue to enjoy the quality and taste of their favorite food at The Diamond, as well as try new items, all while reducing their consumption of trans fats."

The new items for this season include Chanellos Pizza, Red Hot & Blue Barbeque, and chicken tenders. Also new this year is Hounds by the Pound and We Pop It! You Top It! Hounds by the Pound will allow fans to load up their hot dog with their favorite toppings. We Pop It! You Top It! will let fans top their popped corn with cheeses and butter.
