EVERETT, Wash. - Corey Simpson hit a walk-off, RBI single to score Drew Jackson in the bottom of the 10th as the AquaSox defeated Tri-City 3-2 on Friday, Aug. 7, at Everett Memorial Stadium. Jackson scored all three of the AquaSox runs and was 2 for 4 with a double and a walk.

Tied at 2-all going into the bottom of the 10th, Jackson singled to lead off for Everett. He stole second and was bunted over to third by Braden Bishop for the second time in the game. Simpson singled to right-center field to score Jackson and give the Mariners' minor-league system its third walk-off win of the night. Class A Bakersfield and Triple-A Tacoma also won in walk-off fashion on Friday.

Jackson scored the tying run in the eighth, leading off with a double and taking third on a throwing error. Logan Taylor would hit a sac fly, the Frogs' 24th of the season, to score Jackson and tie the game.

Jackson scored the first run very similarly to how he scored the winning run. After a leadoff walk, he stole second and was bunted to third by Bishop. This time Simpson had the sac fly to score Jackson and tie the game at 1-all after Tri-City had scored in the top of the first.

Nick Wells and Jake Brentz made their debuts for Everett and the Mariners' organization. Wells was the AquaSox's top pitcher, going five innings in relief with one hit allowed, no walks and eight strikeouts.

Join us at the ballpark tomorrow for the finale of this three-game series at 6:05 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8. The AquaSox will have Frog Fleece Blankets to giveaway to the first 1,000 fans, presented by NECA/IBEW Local 191.
