Everett AquaSox News Release
EVERETT - The Everett AquaSox dropped their fourth straight game Monday night, a 9-3 loss to the Vancouver Canadians at Everett Memorial Stadium.
Despite good defense behind Sox pitchers, 6 runs in 4 innings off starter Doug Salinas put them in a hole that out of which they could not climb. The big boost in Vancouver's favor came in the 4th inning in the form of a 2-run homer off the bat of Julio Rivera (1) and 3-run shot by Dan Hamblin (6).
In addition, Canadian starter Inoel Deaza had a good showing coaxing 3 strikeouts, allowing only 6 hits, 1 run and 2 walks in 6 innings of work; good enough to earn the win (2-2).
Roberto Mena, Craig Hurba, and Kalian Sams all had multi-hit games for the AquaSox.
Sox player of the game Nick Hill made a good showing on the mound in relief going 2 innings with no hits, no runs, no walks and 4 strikeouts.
Everett will face Vancouver again Tuesday morning at Everett Memorial Stadium with a special 11:05 pm start time. It will be Kids Safety Day sponsored by Radio Disney AM 1250. Brad Hertzler will start for Vancouver and Alfredo Venegas will make his first start as a member of the AquaSox.
