Everett AquaSox News Release
VANCOUVER, BC: After having several recent player transactions, the new look Everett AquaSox flexed their power in a 8-4 victory at Nat Bailey Stadium on Saturday evening. Everett had six extra base hits, three home runs, a pair of triples, and a double. With the win, the AquaSox move to 47-47 on the season and lead the series 4-1.
Josh Morgan got the AquaSox on the board with a two-run homer in the third. Morgan, who was originally drafted by the Texas Rangers in the third round of the 2014, was assigned to Everett on Thursday. The Frogs would score one more run in the inning thanks to a bases loaded walk by Justin Lavey for an early 3-0. Morgan would later add a sacrafice fly
In the fifth inning James Parker, who was starting at shortstop following the Noelvi Marte trade, homered on a line drive to left center field. It was his eighth lone ball of the season. Newcomer, Colin Davis joined the home run barrage in the eighth inning with a two-run shot of his own.
Juan Mercedes (5-5), who has been one of the AquaSox most constant pitchers this summer kept Everett in the game. He went five innings allowing four runs. Luis Curvelo, Tim Elliott, and Isaiah Campbell combined to go the final four innings without allowing a run.
Offensivley, Mike Salvatore and Alberto Rodriguez each tripled. Rodriguez was 2-5 and extended his hitting streak to 12 games. All nine AquaSox hitters reach base.
The Frogs will be back at Funko Field on Tuesday, August 2nd against the Hillsboro Hops for Kids Day with a special 11:05am PDT first pitch.
