Everett AquaSox News Release

Everett, WA - The AquaSox won an important game Saturday, keeping pace with Vancouver for first place in the Northwest League North Division. Nick Rodriguez and Cash Gladfelter both accounted for two runs to secure the victory.

Salem-Keizer jumped ahead in the top of the second when Nico Giarratano launched one off the wall in left field. Ryan Ramiz deflected the ball, forcing Charlie McConnell to make a play at third base, allowing a run to score.

Everett would only take two innings to respond. Sparked by a pair of hits from Ryan Garcia and Jansiel Rivera, Nick Rodriguez hit an equalizing RBI single to left field, bringing in Garcia from second. Cash Gladfelter doubled in the next at bat, clearing the bases and giving the Frogs a two-run cushion.

Starter Orlando Razo had a phenomenal outing for the AquaSox, pitching five scoreless innings. The right-hander finished with 6 IP, 6 H, 1 R, and 3 SO.

A Volcano pitching change in the bottom of the seventh wouldn't be enough to tame the AquaSox' hot bats. Ryne Ogren lifted a 1-0 pitch to center field, bringing in one. Once on base, Ogren eventually scored on a balk. Nick Rodriguez brought in yet another Everett run with a sacrifice fly to center field.

Ogren's sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth knocked in the final AquaSox run.

Mariners 2018 draft pick, Ben Onyshko made his Frog debut in the seventh inning. The Stetson graduate strung together two solid innings, allowing only one run off one hit, keeping the Everett lead intact. Cody Mobley took over on the mound in the ninth inning and secured the victory, 8-2 Frogs.

Sunday the Frogs will conclude the series against Salem-Keizer at 4:05 PT. Look out for the AquaSox Socks Giveaway, given to the first 1,000 fans. Additionally, Tyler's Amazing Balancing Act will come to Everett once again for what is certainly a sight to see.
