SPOKANE, WA - Unable to keep their bats going from last night$B!G(Js home opener, the Spokane Indians (1-1) fell 4-1 to the Everett Aquasox (1-1) to even the five game series at one win apiece.
Everett$B!G(Js pitching cooled down the Indians hot bats, with starter Walter Suriel (1-0) going seven innings, allowing just one run, 5 hits and no walks.
The Indians lone run of the night came from Eric Fry, who homered to deep right field in the bottom of the third. Fry also added a single to go 2-3 on the night.
Indians starter Martin Perez (0-1) lasted five innings, allowing three hits and three runs, two of which were unearned. Perez finished the night with a 1.80 ERA and five strikeouts.
The Indians return to Avista Stadium tomorrow to continue the five game home stand against Everett. Tomorrow night will be Hands Free Night presented by Allstate Insurance and 98.1 KISS FM. The first 1,000 fans and all Banner Bank Diamond Club members will receive a hands free cell phone headset.
