AppleSox Baseball Hiura Named All-American

WENATCHEE, Wash. - Keston Hiura, an outfielder for the Wenatchee AppleSox in 2015, was named to the Perfect Game All-America First Team, Wednesday. He was the only player from the West Coast League selected to the First Team roster.
Hiura, a sophomore-to-be at UC Irvine, capped the 2015 season for Wenatchee by reaching base in 41-consecutive games (believed to be both a team and WCL record).
Overall, Hiura reached base in all but one of his 49 games played.
He ranked first in four hitting categories in the WCL, second in four categories, and third in three. Overall, his name appears in 15 of the 17 top-10 categories including; average, hits, doubles, triples, home runs, extra-base hits, total bases, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, runs, RBI, at bats, hit by pitch, sacrifice flies, and stolen bases.
Hiura led the AppleSox in average (.356), runs (39), hits (68), doubles (21), triples (6), RBI (42), HBP (9), sacrifice flies (5), and stolen bases (13).
He set single-season team records for doubles (21), triples (6), extra-base hits (33), and total bases (119).
Justin Flores (Kelowna, Second Team), and Tyler Davis and Cadyn Grenier (Bend, Third Team), were also named to Perfect Game All-American teams; the only other representatives from the WCL.
