Antonio Graves Signs With French Team

Pittsburgh Xplosion News Release
PITTSBURGH, January 4, 2008 - Pittsburgh Xplosion guard Antonio Graves has signed with Pau-Orthez of the France Pro A League, the team announced today. Graves had his contract officially bought out yesterday.
In 13 games, the former Pitt Panther averaged 19.5 points, 3.6 assists, and 2.5 rebounds. Graves has not played for the Xplosion since December 19, when negotiations with the French club began. At the time of his departure, Graves led Pittsburgh with a 44.9 three-point percentage.
"Antonio Graves is one of my favorite players in the CBA, period," Xplosion head coach Carlos Knox said. "And I hate to lose him, but that's what the minor leagues are about."
By drafting Graves in the sixth round of the 2007 CBA Draft, the Xplosion do own his CBA rights for two seasons. If Graves does come back to the United States next year, there is a possibility he could land with Pittsburgh.
The Xplosion will continue without Graves tonight in Albany. Pittsburgh returns home Monday and Tuesday for two games against Great Falls before embarking on a 10-game road trip.
