Barrie, ON- The Barrie Colts are proud to announce today that defensemen Nick Crawford has been signed to a three-year entry-level contract with the Buffalo Sabres.
The Sabres selected the Caledon native in the 6th round, 164th overall in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
Crawford is coming off the best of his four seasons in the OHL, leading all defensemen with 70 points, Nick finished second in voting for the league's top defensemen.
He finished fourth in team scoring and led the league in plus/minus with a plus-51 rating.
The 6'1", 185 pound rear-guard was named defensemen of the month in November, after he joined the Colts in October along with T.J. Brodie.
