Angels Recall Budde, Walker Joins Bees

SALT LAKE CITY (April 24, 2010) - The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim announced today that the club has recalled catcher Ryan Budde from Triple-A Salt Lake. To replace Budde on the Bees roster, Salt Lake has recalled catcher Brian Walker from Double-A Arkansas.

Budde, 30, has appeared in six games for the Bees in 2010, hitting .286. In 2009, he hit .223 with 16 doubles, seven homeruns and 31 RBI in 83 games for Salt Lake. Budde also appeared in three games for the Angels last season. The Midwest City, Okla. native was originally selected by the Angels in the 12th round of the 2001 draft.

Walker, 24, has appeared in five games for the Travelers in 2010, hitting .250 with two homeruns and five RBI. In 2009, he hit .267 with two doubles and seven RBI in 19 games for Arkansas. He also appeared in 38 games for Single-A Rancho Cucamonga last season, hitting .291 with seven doubles, five homeruns and 21 RBI. The Tulsa, Okla. native was originally selected by the Angels in the 29th round of the 2007 draft.
