Angels Option Wood to Salt Lake

SALT LAKE CITY (June 12, 2008) - The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim announced today that the club has optioned infielder Brandon Wood to triple-A Salt Lake.

Wood, 23, appeared in 29 games with the Angels in 2008, hitting .125 with five runs, one double, one home run and two RBI. With the Bees this season, he has appeared in 29 games, averaging .270 at the plate with eight doubles, nine home runs and 23 RBI. The Austin, Texas native was originally selected in the first round, 23rd overall, by the Angels in the 2003 draft.
