Andrew Young Powers Reno to 8-4 Win over Salt Lake

SALT LAKE CITY - The Reno Aces won game one of tonight's doubleheader against the Salt Lake Bees, winning 8-4 behind a strong performance from Andrew Young. Young finished the night 2-for-3 with three RBIs, a double and a run scored.

The two teams combined for just two hits in the first three innings, before Reno broke open the scoring in the top of the fourth. Henry Ramos doubled for just Reno's second hit, before Jake McCarthy crushed his fifth homer of the season to make it 2-0 Aces.

Salt Lake scored in the bottom of the fourth to make it 2-1, but Reno would answer back in the fifth.

Ildemaro Vargas singled to extend his hitting streak to 13 games, scoring Christian Lopes and making it 3-1. Vargas came around to score and make it a 4-1 lead after Young doubled to stretch the lead further.

The Bees scored twice in the bottom of the fifth, and once in the sixth to level it at 4-4 after six in the seven-inning contest.

Young would be back in action in the top of the seventh, driving in two with an RBI single to give Reno the 6-4 lead. Young would join Vargas in scoring to make it 8-4, after a double by Ramos.
