FRISCO, TEXAS (April 19, 2010) - Oklahoma State senior point guard, Andrea Riley, is the winner of the 2010 Nancy Lieberman Award. Riley will receive the honor Wednesday at the Nancy Lieberman Award Luncheon at the Detroit Athletic Club.

The award, named in honor of the Texas Legends' head coach, acknowledges the top point guard in women's Division I basketball each year.

"I've known Andrea Riley most of her life," Lieberman commented. "It is an absolute honor and privilege for me to hand her my award. What makes it even more special is that Texas Legends GM Del Harris---who has been a lifelong friend---will be by my side to give the keynote address. I'm excited about our day in Detroit and grateful to be there with Andrea and Del."

Riley led the Big 12 in points and assists per game, at 26.7 and 6.5, respectively, and is the first player in Big 12 history to lead the league in scoring for three straight seasons.

Texas Legends General Manager, Del Harris, is the keynote speaker at the award ceremony.

"Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of coaching many great point guards from Magic Johnson to Derrick Rose, and during her career Nancy has embodied many of the characteristics of a great point guard," said Harris. "She has had tremendous vision and exceptional leadership abilities not only on the court, but perhaps more importantly off the court. Andrea has best exemplified these characteristics this past season and I am excited to be part of this award presentation."

The winner of the Lieberman Award must display the floor leadership, play-making and ball-handling skills that defined Lieberman's career.

The other finalists for this year's award were Samantha Prahalis of Ohio State, Danielle Robinson of Oklahoma and Courtney Vandersloot of Gonzaga.
