Albany Devils News Release

BINGHAMTON, NY - Albany Devils' Matt Anderson set a franchise record with his 83rd assist as a Devil, but the milestone was overshadowed by a 5-3 setback against the Binghamton Senators Friday at Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena. Steve Zalewski and Chris McKelvie provided second period tallies and Eric Gelinas was the beneficiary of Anderson's record-breaking assist during the third. The Devils now head home for the final four contests of the regular season.

Binghamton established a 2-0 advantage during a five minute span, bridging the first and second periods. Cole Schneider opened the scoring at 17:45 and David Dziurzynski added to Binghamton's advantage 1:08 after the intermission.

Zalewski's redirection on a Jay Leach bid at 4:44 of the second sparked the Devils, who pulled even when McKelvie scored shorthanded at 13:53. Eric Gelinas registered the second assist on Zalewski's goal and Mike Sislo posted the lone helper Albany's ninth shorthanded tally of the year.

Before the end of the second, Binghamton's Mark Stone recaptured his team's lead at 16:14. Schneider scored again at 10:55 of the third and Corey Cowick made it 5-2 at 12:21.

Moments later Eric Gelinas capped the scoring at 13:49. Along with Anderson, McKelvie was also credited with an assist on the play.

In his 26th appearance, Jeff Frazee turned aside 34 shots. Binghamton's Nathan Lawson notched the victory with 27 stops.
