
Minnesota Recalls Zucker

Houston, TX - Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher on Friday announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled forward Jason Zucker (pronounced ZOOKER) from the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL). Houston Aeros General Manager Jim Mill also announced goalie Aaron Dell has been released from a professional tryout agreement (PTO).
Zucker, 21 (1/16/92), leads the Aeros with 24 goals, ranks tied for first on the team with 50 points (24-2650) in 55 games and was named to the 2012-13 AHL All-Rookie Team on Wednesday. He ranks tied for first in the AHL with eight game-winning goals, tied for fourth with 12 power-play goals and 10th with 206 shots on goal. Zucker ranks tied for second in scoring and third in goals amongst AHL rookies. He totaled five points (4-15) and was a plus-five in 14 games with the Minnesota Wild this season. Zucker scored his first NHL goal in his season debut Feb. 17 versus Detroit. The 5-foot-11, 186-pound forward was born in Newport Beach, Calif., and raised in Las Vegas, Nev.
He recorded two assists in six games with the Wild last season after signing an entry-level contract on March 27, 2012. He made his NHL debut on March 29 against Florida. Zucker collected 46 points (22-2446) in 38 games during his sophomore campaign at the University of Denver last season. He also served as team captain for Team USA at the 2012 World Junior Championship and tallied seven points (3-47) in six games. He was selected by Minnesota in the second-round (No. 59) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
Dell returns to Allen, where he spent the entire season with the Central Hockey League's Allen Americans, Houston's CHL affiliate. In 44 appearances, Dell was 22-11-6 with a 2.30 goals against average and a .916 save percentage during the regular season. He also led the Americans to a first round playoff victory over the Denver Cutthroats. In five playoffs appearances, Dell is 4-1 with a 1.61 goals against average and a .916 save percentage for Allen. The 23-year old played collegiately at the University of North Dakota, going 49-20-5 over three seasons with a 2.15 goals against average and a .912 save percentage.
Houston finishes a ten-game home stand with San Antonio on Saturday at 7:05 p.m. The game marks the final regular season home game of the 2012-13 season for the Aeros. The team will celebrate Fan Appreciation night at Toyota Center.
