Rio Grande Valley Vipers News Release

MCALLEN, TEXAS - The NBA Development League announced today that Rio Grande Valley Vipers guard Antonio Anderson is the Player of the Week for games played between December 28 and January 3.

While leading the Vipers to a 2-0 record, Anderson averaged 26.5 points, 7.0 assists, 3.0 steals, 2.0 rebounds and one block per game while shooting 62% (19-for-31) from the field.

In a 114-112 win over the Austin Toros at Dodge Arena on December 30, Anderson hit the game-winning shot with 1.8 seconds left before successfully defending a last-second three-point attempt by altering the trajectory of Curtis Jerrells' shot to secure the two-point win. Anderson led the team in scoring (27 points), steals (four) and tied for the team-lead in assists (five) in that game.

Anderson led all players in scoring (26 points) and assists (nine) in a 108-101 overtime win in Los Angeles on Sunday.

Anderson is the second Viper to ever earn the honor. Desmon Farmer earned the honor on March 31, 2008.
