Dakota Edges Reno In Double Overtime At 2010 NBA D-League Showcase

January 4, 2010 - NBA G League (G League) News Release

BOISE, ID Jan. 4, 2010 - Maurice Baker's second free throw with 39 seconds left in double overtime capped 11 unanswered points for the Dakota Wizards, as they edged the Reno Big Horns 119-110 in the third game of the 2010 NBA D-League Showcase.

Baker, who played 51 minutes, finished with 30 points on 12-for-20 shooting, to go with 12 rebounds and three steals. Curtis Withers also posted a double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds for the Wizards (7-8).

"Our backs are against the wall," said Baker. "We've dropped a few games we shouldn't have dropped. We're trying to get back to.500 to make a push at the playoffs."

Dakota appeared to have things wrapped up in regulation before a three-point play from Reno's Desmon Farmer with 12 seconds left tied the score at 95-95. The Wizards came right back down and scored on a Marcus Dove layup, setting up the final possession for Reno, in which Farmer found David Noel for a layup as time expired to send the game into overtime.

Reno's Russell Robinson was spectacular in defeat, finishing with a game-high 34 points. Farmer added 17 points, five assists and four rebounds for the Big Horns (5-9).

Dakota will play in the late game tomorrow against Springfield. Reno returns to action Wednesday against Erie.
