Midland RockHounds News Release
Teoscar Hernandez, who went 4-for-5, with three doubles, three runs and four runs batted in, as the Corpus Christi Hooks rallied for an 11-7 win in 10 innings Monday night. His three-run double in the eighth tied the game at 7-7 and his double in the 10th inning was the game-winner.
The RockHounds had leads of 6-1 and 7-3, but the Hooks rallied back, drawing to within 6-3 on Alex Bregman's two-run home run in the seventh. It was the Astros' prospect's 11th homer of the season, tying the RockHounds' Matt Chapman for the league lead. A Wade Kirkland double drove in Danny Oh (who had reached on a gorgeous bunt single) in the home half of the seventh, re-building the lead to four runs.
The Hooks loaded the bases with two out in the eighth, when Franklin Barreto's critical error allowed a run to score. The miscue also brought Hernandez to the plate (with the bases still loaded) and he delivered a three-run, game-tying double to left.
After Chan-Jong Moon opened the 10th with a single, Hernandez's third double of the game drove in what would be the game-winning run and the Hooks added three more to break the game open.
