Amerks to Host "Men's Health Night"
January 23, 2014 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Rochester Americans News Release
(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans announced today that the team will host Men's Health Night presented by Urology Associates of Rochester on Friday, Jan. 31 when the Amerks host the Rockford IceHogs at The Blue Cross Arena at 7:05 p.m.
The Amerks and U.A.R. are once again partnering to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer. As part of the initiative, the Amerks will wear special-edition jerseys to promote men's health awareness (see attached rendering). Fans will have the opportunity to purchase these jerseys through a silent auction held during the game on The Blue Cross Arena concourse.
Following the game, the winners will be able to take the ice and be presented with a "jersey off the back" from the Amerks players. There will also be an online portion of the auction at the auction section of NHL.com, with more details to be announced at a later date. All proceeds from the "jersey off the back" promotion will go to www.ZeroCancer.org and The Lipson Cancer Center.
A special Men's Health Night ticket offer, featuring "best-available" seats for just $16 apiece, is available at www.amerks.com/menshealth or at The Blue Cross Arena Box Office. A portion of every ticket sold through this offer will be donated back to www.ZeroCancer.org.
During the game, U.A.R. will also provide free blood tests to screen for prostate cancer for men in attendance on the Green Party Deck. Anyone who takes part in the screening will be eligible for a prize pack courtesy of U.A.R.
The Friday Amerks Happy Hour runs from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Upper Atrium Bar and features live music from Amy Montrois and $2 Molson and Coors Light drafts. Jan. 31 is also a Value Parking Night in the Civic Center Garage, with parking available for just $5 (for a savings of $3).
