Amerks Sign Goalie Anthony Peters to PTO

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans announced today that the team has signed goaltender Anthony Peters to a professional tryout contract (PTO).

Peters, 24, made his professional debut with the ECHL's Florida Everblades on March 7, recording a 32-save shutout. In two total games with Florida, Peters has gone 2-0-0 with a 0.96 goals-against average and a .966 save percentage. Prior to joining the Everblades, Peters played four seasons with St. Mary's University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where he finished the 2014-15 season with a record of 16-7-0, a 2.30 goals-against average and a .926 save percentage to earn CIS Goalie of the Year honors. In 82 career games with St. Mary's, the 6-foot-1, 196-pound native of Blyth, Ontario, compiled a 52-27-0 record with a 2.58 goals-against average and a .911 save percentage.
