
Americans Suffer Rough Start to 2023-24 Season

Tri-City Americans News Release
The Tri-City Americans opened the 2023-24 season today in Prince George, falling 9-0 to the Cougars.
Zac Funk opened scoring midway through the first period for Prince George and dominated the rest of the night. The 2003-born forward finished the night with three goals and two assists, his second career five-point game.
Joshua Ravensbergen, a 17-year old goaltender, made his WHL debut in net tonight for the Cougars and recorded a 28 save shutout.
Defenseman Viliam Kmec also recorded a hat trick, his first ever multi-goal game in the WHL.
Nick Avakyan started in net for the Americans and turned aside four of nine shots faced. 2006-born Eric Kahl stepped in after the first period and finished the game in net for the Americans, turning aside 19 of 23 shots faced.
The Americans will stay in Prince George and take on the Cougars again tomorrow night.
