
Americans Search for Victory in Final Trip to Seattle

The Americans are making their final trip to Kent this season to take on the Seattle Thunderbirds.
After tonight, the two teams will meet once more at the Toyota Center on April 15 to wrap up their 14-game season series. The Americans are 0-10-2-0 against the Thunderbirds so far this season.
2006-born forward Jordan Gavin is joining the Americans and expected to play tonight against the Thunderbirds. Gavin was selected second overall in the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft and has already joined the Americans for five games. The Surrey, B.C. native played for Delta Hockey Academy U17 this season, recording 105 points through 28 games. He added 30 points in five postseason games, tied as the league points leader with his Delta teammate Miguel Marques, and helped lead his team to win the 2021-22 CSSHL Championship.
Connor Roulette has the most head-to-head points with six goals and 11 assists against the Americans. For Tri-City, Parker Bell has two goals and four assists. Marc Lajoie has been especially good against Seattle with four goals and one assist. Both teams most recently played each other on Sunday at the Toyota Center when the Thunderbirds took a 4-1 victory.
Tri-City opened scoring early in the second period with a goal from Tyson Greenway, his ninth of the season, assisted by Sam Huo. Tri-City's one goal lead held for over ten minutes until Jared Davidson tied the game with a power play goal for Seattle. Conner Roulette followed a minute later with the go-ahead goal. The Thunderbirds took a 2-1 lead into the final period. Davidson and Roulette each added one more goal in the final period to extend Seattle's lead to a 4-1 final. Nick Avakyan played the full game in net for the Americans and stopped 29 of 33 shots faced.
The Americans are currently six points behind the Prince George Cougars for the final Western Conference playoff position.
