
Regina Hosts Winnipeg Friday at Brandt Centre

Regina, Sask. - The Regina Pats (24-31-3-2) host the Winnipeg ICE on Friday at 7:00 p.m., inside the Brandt Centre.
The Pats are coming off a 3-2 victory over the Saskatoon Blades on Wednesday, which snapped their four game losing-streak. Borya Valis, Logan Linklater and Ryker Evans scored the Pats goals, with Linklater scoring his first in a Pats uniform. It was the Pats first win over the Blades since April 20, 2021, as the season series finishes 5-1 in favor of Saskatoon.
The final shots were 29-23 for the Pats, as Drew Sim made 21 saves on 23 shots for his sixth win of the season. The Pats went 1-for-2 on the power play and 2-for-2 on the penalty kill.
The Winnipeg ICE are coming off a 8-1 win over the Moose Jaw Warriors on Tuesday night, and have now won 12 straight games, while having not lost in regulation in 16 straight contests (14-0-1-1). The ICE have also recorded 10 shutouts this season, which is the most in the WHL. They are currently first in the WHL with 48 wins and 101 points with six games remaining on their schedule, with four being at home.
Winnipeg sits first in the Kia CHL Top 10 Rankings after Week 22, with the Edmonton Oil Kings in third as the only two WHL teams in the top 10. One of the hottest players for the ICE has been Tampa Bay Lightning prospect Jack Finley who is on a seven game point streak (7G-4A-11PTS).

It's the first meeting between the Pats and ICE since December 29th at the Brandt Centre, as the ICE lead the season series 4-0. The Pats and ICE will faceoff three times this month, as they'll end their season series in Winnipeg for two games on April 14th and 15th. The Pats are 0-11-1-1 against the ICE since their move from Kootenay to Winnipeg at the beginning of the 2019-20 season.
HEADLINES
The Pats are dealing with several injuries as of late as Zack Stringer, Braxton Whitehead, Easton Armstrong, Adam McNutt and Matthew Kieper were out of the lineup on Wednesday. Timeline remains unclear on their return.
Connor Bedard is the third 16-year-old in team history to reach 80+ points in a season, joining Jeff Friesen (1992-93, 83PTS) and Doug Wickenheiser (1977-78, 88PTS)...he is two goals away from breaking Friesen's Pats 16-year-old record of 45 goals set in 1992-93, and is five points back of passing Wickenheiser's 16-year-old record of 88 points set in 1977-78.
