Americans Owner Duchesne to be Honored Tonight

Allen, Texas - Allen American's minority owner, Steve Duchesne, will be honored Wednesday night when he is inducted into the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Hall of Fame.

Duchesne was an all-star defenseman during his three seasons with the Drummondville Voltigeurs in the 1980s, setting a team record for a defenseman with 81 points in 1984-85. He played 1,113 NHL games with Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Quebec, St. Louis, Ottawa and Detroit, where he won a Stanley Cup in 2002.

"I'm so honored to be inducted into the Quebec Junior Hockey Hall of Fame," said Duchesne. "To be among amazing players like Mario Lemieux, Luc Robitaille and Guy Lafleur, I'm so proud and humbled by the recognition."

Also to be inducted at tonight's ceremony in Montreal, are Michel Goulet, Richard Brodeur, Pierre Sevigny and Charles Henry.

Steve Duchesne, along with Americans majority owner Doug Miller, started the Allen Americans franchise in 2009-2010 when they joined the Central Hockey League.

The Americans return to playoff action tonight when they face the Texas Brahmas in Game 3 of their first round series, which is tied 1-1. The Americans next home game is this Saturday for Game 5 at 7:05 PM. Tickets are available at the Allen Event Center box office or online at www.allenamericans.com.
