Tri-City Americans News Release

KENNEWICK, WA - Tri-City Americans Governor/General Manager Bob Tory announced today that the club has selected Brian Cheeseman as its new athletic therapist for the upcoming 2009-10 campaign.

Cheeseman earned his Bachelor of Kinesiology degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland in 2006 before moving on to Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario. While at Sheridan, Cheeseman completed his Bachelor of Applied Health Sciences degree while also being selected for the NHL Professional Equipment Managers Scholarship for 2007.

Cheeseman spent last season working as a student therapist for both the AHL's Hamilton Bulldogs Hockey Club and the Oakville Buzz Lacrosse team. He also spent three months working as a student therapist at the Sheridan Sports Injury Clinic.

"We made a decision to go to a two-man system, thus ensuring our player's needs are met fully in the areas of therapy, rehabilitation, equipment and skate sharpening," Tory explained. "We are happy to bring Brian on board. He comes highly recommended to us, with impeccable credentials, and we look forward to him joining our franchise."

Cheeseman will officially begin his position on August 1.
