Tri-City Americans News Release
KENNEWICK, WA - Tri-City Americans Governor/General Manager Bob Tory announced today that the team has extended the contract of Prospect Development Coach and Head Scout, Barclay Parneta. Per team policy, the terms and length of the extension were not disclosed.
"Barclay has done a tremendous job transitioning our scouting staff following Terry Bangen's retirement," explained Tory. "Continuity breeds success in this position and his relentless work, both with our prospects and their parents, sets him apart."
Parneta, who joined Tri-City in August of 2010, is in the midst of his second season with the club. Prior to joining the Americans, Parneta spent the previous seven seasons as an amateur scout in the National Hockey League, working five seasons with the St. Louis Blues before moving onto the Phoenix Coyotes.
Following a long, road-heavy month of January, the Americans will now get a week to rest and prepare for a doubleheader weekend inside the Toyota Center. First up is a Friday, February 3rd date with the Seattle Thunderbirds (18-27-1-1) on Fred Meyer Breast Cancer Awareness Night. Game time is 7:05 p.m. on the 7th annual pink ice affair. Tickets are available through all Ticketmaster outlets, including online at ticketmaster.com, the Toyota Center box office, or all Fred Meyer outlets. The game will also be broadcast live on NewsTalk 870 AM, starting with the Sterling Savings Bank Warm-up Show at 6:45 p.m.
