Allen Americans News Release

ALLEN, Texas- The Allen Americans took home a ‘W' in the first rematch between last year's Ray Miron Cup Finals participants, 6-4.

Rapid City got off to a solid start, with a 2-0 lead off of goals by Ryan Menel and Scott Wray. Allen answered right back however with three unanswered goals from Justin DaCosta, Tobias Whelan and Dustin Donaghy. Whelan's goal was a much needed jolt to a struggling Americans power play.

Kevin Harvey scored for the Rush to tie the game at 3 at the end of two periods, on a goal 17:37 into the period from Scott Wray.

Colton Yellow Horn buried another power play goal for the Americans early in the third, only to be answered right back by Jamie Vanderveeken at 10:32.

Bruce Graham scored the go-ahead goal midway through the third period to give Allen the lead for good, scoring on a Nino Musitelli pass at 11:16 of the period.

Jarret Lukin added a short-handed empty net goal to give the Americans a two goal advantage with 14 seconds remaining in the game.

The Allen power play was 2-7, while they held the Rapid City man advantage to no goals in four chances.

Nino Musitelli had two assists for the Americans, while Colton Yellow Horn had a goal and two assists.

The two clubs will meet again tomorrow night in Rapid City, with face off scheduled for 8:05.
