EVERETT, WA - Justin Feser had a 3-point night and Brendan Shinnimin scored the game-winner in the shootout, as the Tri-City Americans (2-0-0-0) slipped past the Portland Winterhawks (0-0-0-1) 5-4 in Game 2 of the Everett Silvertips Pre-Season Classic, presented by Holiday Inn - Downtown Everett.

In a back-and-forth affair, Tri-City's Olli Dickson got the ball rolling just 4:54 into the first period. However, Portland responded with two goals in a three and a half minute span to take a 2-1 lead into the first break.

Just 3:00 into the second and on the power play, rookie Brian Williams scored his first goal of the pre-season, tying the game at 2. But, late in the period, Portland used another quick two-goal outburst to take a 4-2 lead.

In the third, Tri-City pulled to within one with Feser's second goal in as many games. Finally, with 2:55 left in regulation, Feser set-up Swedish forward Malte Strömwall who tied the game at 4.

A scoreless overtime would give way to the first shootout of the tournament, where Shinnimin scored the lone goal to give Tri-City the come-from-behind victory.

Rookie Eric Comrie started the game in goal, playing the first 30:36 and picking up 15 saves on 17 shots. Comrie then gave way to Ty Rimmer, who played the remaining 34:24, including overtime and the shootout, to earn the victory. Tri-City finished the game 2-for-3 on the power play, while Portland went 2-of-7 on the man-advantage.

The Americans wrapped up their portion of the Everett Silvertips Pre-Season Classic, presented by Holiday Inn - Downtown Everett with a 2-0 record and now prepare to host their own exhibition tournament next weekend. Tri-City will kick-off the six-game Red Lion Hotels' Pre-Season Tournament on Thursday, September 8, when they play host to the defending WHL Champion Kootenay Ice (0-0).
