Americans Announce Training Camp Roster

Allen, Texas - Allen Americans players reported to training camp Friday morning for off-ice workouts and physicals. Twenty six players will fight for 19 jobs with the Americans; 18 players will dress on game night with one healthy scratch.

"It's time to get down to business," said Americans new defensive coach, and former Dallas Stars defenseman, Richard Matvichuk. Matvichuck, along with minority owners Ed Belfour, Craig Ludwig, Steve Duchesne and Mike Modano will assist new Head Coach Steve Martinson during on-ice drills.

"I've waited all summer for this day," said Martinson. "It's always exciting starting a new adventure. We have assembled a lot of talent here and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone together on the ice."

The Americans will have several familiar faces on the ice this camp with returning players Jarret Lukin, Brian McMillin, Jason Deitsch, Mike Berube, Tyler Ludwig and Trevor Ludwig. Along with the guys who have returned, after playing elsewhere last season, Kip Brennan, Nino Musitelli and Chris Whitley.

The Allen Americans will play two pre-season contests, opening on the road at Texas on Friday, October 12th at NYTEX. The Americans will play their only home pre-season game on Saturday, October 13th at 7:05 PM against the Texas Brahmas.
