
Blaze Set to Open Training Camp Monday

The Bloomington Blaze, fueled by Mid-Illini Credit Union, begin formal preparation on the ice for the 2012-13 Central Hockey League season on Monday.
First-year coach Brian Gratz opens training camp with 14 forwards, six defensemen, one two-way skater and three goalies. The Blaze open camp with five players who return from last year's squad, including the top two goal scorers Jon Booras and Kyle Laughlin, veteran forward Travis Granbois and defensemen Ryan Palmer and 2012 CHL All-Star Aaron Dawson.

The camp will continue through home-and-home exhibition games next weekend with the Quad City Mallards. The Blaze will host the Flock on Friday, October 12 at 7:05 p.m. in the only home exhibition contest. Tickets for Friday's exhibition game are at a reduced price of $8, and only $5 for season ticket holders.
The Blaze are opening two of the camp sessions to the public on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. Entrance to U.S. Cellular Coliseum for those sessions will be through the VIP entrance on the south side of the building.
The 2012-13 season opens the following weekend as the Rapid City Rush visit U.S. Cellular Coliseum for contests on Friday, October 19 and Saturday, October 20 at 7:05 p.m. each evening. The new Junior Blaze entry in the Midwest Junior Hockey League will play its home opener at 3 p.m. Friday, October 19. Admission to Junior Blaze games on Blaze game days is included in the Blaze ticket.
