American Hockey League Announces Suspensions

February 27, 2016 - American Hockey League (AHL) News Release


SPRINGFIELD, Mass. ... The American Hockey League today that Bridgeport Sound Tigers defenseman C.J. Ludwig has been suspended for three (3) games and Providence Bruins center Colby Cave has been suspended for one (1) game as a result of their actions in a game between the teams on Feb. 26.

Ludwig was suspended under the provisions of AHL Rule 28.1 (supplementary discipline) after receiving a match penalty for an illegal check to the head of an opponent. He will miss Bridgeport's games tonight (Feb. 27) vs. Providence, Sunday (Feb. 28) vs. Albany and Wednesday (Mar. 2) vs. Hartford.

Cave was assessed an instigator penalty within the final five minutes of the third period, resulting in an automatic one-game suspension under the provisions of AHL Rule 46.22. He will miss Providence's game tonight (Feb. 27) at Bridgeport.
