St. Paul 5, Sioux City 2

Five St. Paul Saints had multi-hit games as the Saints were too much for Sioux City in a 5-2 contest. The Saints took the lead in the third inning with the top of the order when RF Jose Hernandez singled home CF Jim Rapoport who had singled in the previous at bat. LF Shane Costa singled home Hernandez to put the Saints up 2-0. 3B/SS Jon Townsend hit a solo homerun in the fifth, his first of the year. Sioux City responded in the seventh with a pair of runs but couldn't scratch again. St. Paul tacked on two more runs in the eighth to give them the final 5-2 advantage. Townsend lead the team with two RBI on a 2-for-4 night at the plate. Robert Coe picked up his second win in as many starts with 7.0 IP giving up four hits and just two unearned runs.

New Jersey 10, Lincoln 0

The New Jersey Jackals shutout the Lincoln Saltdogs in inter-league play as New Jersey's P Steve Fox gave them 7.0 innings of two-hit ball. The Jackals blew the game open with a four-run third inning with the help of a three-run home by Francisco Caraballo on a 1-1 pitch from P Chandler Barnard. Caraballo ended up scoring twice on the day. 3B Nick Giarraputo had an impressive day at the plate, racking up a game-high four hits in five at bats. He scored twice but didn't have an RBI. SS Angel Berroa and CF Danny Santiesteban each had two RBI for the Jackals. New Jersey padded the lead with three more runs in the top of the ninth. The Saltdogs were held to just five hits on the night.

Wichita 3, Gary SouthShore 1

The Wichita Wingnuts put up three runs late in the game with Gary SouthShore Friday night to take the game 3-1. Gary SouthShore scored in the fifth inning to take a 1-0 lead when Wingnut P Josh Lowey plunked 2B Chris Carrara with the bases loaded. Lowey went on to pick up the win as that was the only run he allowed in 7.0 innings. Wichita took the lead when the Railcats intentionally walked John Rodriquez to load the bases and it back fired. CF Mitch Einerston lofted one to the CF Jason James, but an error by James allowed Einerston to reach first and two runs to score. CJ Zeigler singled Rodriguez home in the next at bat. Zeigler had a game-high two hits in four at bats.

Amarillo 21, Laredo 5

The Amarillo Sox turned on the heat in the middle innings to pull way out in front of the Laredo Lemurs on the way to a 21-5 win. The Sox racked up 20 hits against the Lemurs including four doubles, a pair of triples and homeruns from 3B Matthew Tucker, 1B Alberta Espinosa and SS Garrett Rau. Tucker had a team-high seven RBI on a 4-for-6 night at the plate. CF Harrison Kain had five RBI while hitting 3-for-4 and scoring four runs. 2B Jake Opitz added in three RBI on three hits in five at bats. Sox P Jack Spradlin picked up the win in 6.1 innings of work in which he allowed four earned runs on seven hits.

Kansas City 4, Grand Prairie 3

The Kansas City T-Bones took the lead for good with a two-run eighth inning and went on to beat the Grand Prairie Airhogs 4-3. P Ronnie Morales came on in the eighth inning for the Airhogs but gave up an RBI triple to DH Brandon Jones. Jones scored the difference making run when scored as LF Justin Bass bounced into a 4-6-3 double play. Bass lead the team with two RBI. The Airhogs started a rally in the bottom of the inning but managed just one run off of a single by DH Andres Rodriguez. For the T-Bones, Jones, 2B Sean Henry and 3B Devin Goodwin were each 2-for-4 with a run scored. P Matt Mitchell earned his first win of the year with 7.0 innings, giving up four hits and two runs (one earned).

Sioux Falls 4, Fargo-Moorhead 2 (11 innings)

RF Cristian Guerroero broke the 2-2 tie in the eleventh inning between the Sioux Falls Pheasants and the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks with a two-run homerun and it proved to be the difference. 3B Cesar Nicolas was walked with one out in the top of the eleventh inning before Guerrero came to the plat and slapped an 0-1 delivery out of the ballpark. P Kyle Mertins earned the win with two scoreless innings including back-to-back strikeouts to end the game. The Pheasants forced extra innings when Jonny Kaplan scored in the top of the ninth on an error to tie the score. Pheasant LF Mark Shorey lead the team with four hits while Kaplan and C Al Quintana each had multi-hit games as well.

Winnipeg 7, El Paso 6

The Winnipeg Wingnuts scored in the top of the ninth to break a 6-6 tie and beat the El Paso Diablos 7-6. CF Chris Roberson lead off the inning with a single and advanced to second when DH Jon Weber followed him with a single. Roberson scored as 1B Yurendell de Caster hit into a 4-6-3 double play but the damage was done. P Kaohi Downing picked up the win in relief for his 1.0 inning in which he recorded a pair of strikeouts. Roberson had a great day with the bat going 4-for-5 with an RBI and three runs. Weber was 2-for-5 with an RBI as well. All told, six different Wingnuts notched RBI on the evening including 2B Matt Cusick who now has nine on the season.
