The Fort Worth duo of DH John Allen and RF Charles Carter proved too much for Pensacola pitching to handle. The two combined to go 4-for-8 with four runs scored and four RBI. One of Allen's two hits was his seventh home run of the season. Cats starting pitcher Tim Haines picked up his third win. He allowed two runs on four hits and struck out a pair in six efficient innings.

Lincoln 6, Sioux City 1

Saltdogs starting pitcher Ryan Trytten was magnificent on the mound as he allowed just one run on eight hits, did not walk a batter and struck out seven in a complete game effort. The win improves Trytten's record to 2-2 on the season and brings Lincoln to within a game of .500. Four different Saltdogs hitters recorded multi-hit games, including SS Anthony Contreras who was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a RBI. Sioux City DH Alex Llanos led the way for the Explorers. He was 2-for-4 in the losing effort.

Grand Prairie 6, Sioux Falls 2

The Grand Prairie AirHogs got some great pitching from their entire staff to hold off Sioux Falls and come away with the win. It all began with a great outing from starting pitcher Kieran Mattison. Mattison allowed one unearned run on one hit and struck out four in six innings to improve to 5-1 on the year. From there, the bullpen allowed one more run in three innings of work, anchored by Vinnie DeChristofaro, who tossed a scoreless ninth to record his third save of the year. AirHogs 3B Edwin Maldonado led the way at the plate, going 1-for-2 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBI.

Wichita 5, St. Paul 2

The Wichita Wingnuts held on to secure the win at home behind a great outing from starting pitcher Brad Davis. Davis allowed just two solo home runs during eight strong innings to improve to 4-4 on the year. The home runs came off the bats of Brent Krause and Marcel Longmire, who supplied the bulk of the offensive production for St. Paul in the losing effort. Wichita closer Byron Embry came on for the ninth and recorded his ninth save of the year.
