This game has been suspended due to a power outage and will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Sunday August 12 beginning at 5:05 PM. The completion of the suspended game will go nine innings while the regularly scheduled game will go seven innings.

A first-inning error by Sioux City 1B Julian Benavidez proved to be costly against Sioux Falls Saturday, as it accounted for two unearned runs in the frame in a two-run Sioux Falls win. The Canaries scored three runs in the inning and after seven-and-a-half led 6-1. But the Explorers used four hits to score three runs in the bottom of the eighth, highlighted by a two-run double by 2B Alex Llanos. With the score still 6-4 in the bottom of the ninth, Sioux Falls closer Jerrod Fuell pitched a 1-2-3 inning to earn his league-leading 21st save of the season. Canaries CF James Shanks had a game-high three RBI on a 2-for-4 night. Shanks also scored twice. For the Explorers, Benavidez went 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Shreveport 8, Coastal Bend 6

Coastal Bend took advantage of two Shreveport third-inning errors and scored three unearned runs to take a 3-1 lead. Coastal Bend led 5-4 in the bottom of the fourth inning, when Shreveport 2B Jack Joffrion came through in a major way for his team, belting his fifth home run of the season with two on and two out to give the Sports a 7-5 lead. Joffrion was 2-for-5 on the night with a run and a game-high four RBI. Thanks to Joffrion's homer, Sports starting pitcher Colby Miller, who was replaced in the top of the sixth, earned his fifth win of the season. Miller allowed five runs, two earned, on seven hits with three walks and two strikeouts. For the Aviators, RF Matt Spencer went 3-for-4 with a run and an RBI.

El Paso 7, Pensacola 3

The Diablos and Pelicans did all their scoring in the middle innings Saturday, with Pensacola getting on the board first, taking a one-run lead in the top of the third. But trailing 3-2 in the bottom of the sixth, El Paso scored five runs on four hits to take its first lead of the game. Two of the five runs came on a bases-loaded single by 3B Juan Camacho, his only hit of the night. Diablos starting pitcher Justin Knoff earned his fourth victory of the season, pitching six innings and allowing three runs, two earned, on eight hits with no walks and five strikeouts. For the Pelicans, CF Chris Reynolds went 4-for-5 with a run and an RBI.
