The game scheduled between Sioux City and Sioux Falls was postponed due to rain. It will be made up Friday, August 14 as part of a doubleheader beginning at 5:05 PM. Both games are scheduled for seven innings.

St. Paul rookie right-hander Todd Mathison tossed 7 2/3 shutout innings, allowing just one hit while striking out six and walking one en route to his first win. Saints 2B Alex Fonseca led all hitters in the contest, going 3-for-3 with a double, a run scored and a pair of stolen bases out of the leadoff spot. 1B Jason Cooper and LF Josh Alley each had a hit and drove in a run. Wichita starter Gabe Medina pitched well, but took the tough luck loss to fall to 8-4.

Fort Worth 9, Shreveport-Bossier 3

HR: None

Fort Worth starting pitcher Lee Gwaltney had a solid outing to earn the win and keep his record perfect at 5-0. Gwaltney allowed two runs on four hits while striking out three in six innings before handing things over to the bullpen. Fort Worth RF Ryan Patterson provided more than enough support at the plate. Patterson finished the game 3-for-5 with a pair of runs scored, two doubles and four RBI to lead all hitters.

Pensacola 4, Grand Prairie 1

@ Grand Prairie, TX. Time: 3:01 Attendance: 2,667 W: Adam Brandenburg (2-1) L: Steve MacFarland (0-2) S: Hunter Davis (18)

HR: PP-Antoin Gray (13), GP-Javier Brito (8)

Pensacola starting pitcher Adam Brandenburg made his longest start of the season, going seven innings while striking out seven, walking one and allowing just four hits to earn his second win. Pelicans CF Francisco Leandro was 1-for-4 with a pair of RBI and 2B Antoin Gray added a solo shot and was 1-for-3. Pensacola closer Hunter Davis retired the side in order in the ninth to earn his 18th save. Grand Prairie 1B Javier Brito was 1-for-3 with a solo home run in the losing effort.
