Pensacola 1B Marcos Rodriguez was 3-for-4 with a double, a stolen base, two runs scored and two RBI to lead the way at the plate and propel the Pelicans into the win column. CF Francisco Leandro also had a good game at the dish, going a perfect 3-for-3 with a pair of stolen bases and a run scored. Pensacola starting pitcher Randy Beam allowed three runs on four hits while striking out three in six innings of work to pick up the victory and improve to 8-6. Fort Worth 3B Michael Bell was 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in the losing effort.

Wichita 7, Sioux City 2

Wichita starting pitcher Adam Cowart allowed just two hits while striking out three in seven shutout innings to lead the Wingnuts to their 10th win in 11 games against Sioux City. The victory improved Cowart's record to 6-5 on the season and helped pull Wichita to within a game of .500 in the second half. Wingnuts LF Greg Porter had a huge night at the plate, going 4-for-5 with a home run and two RBI. DH Dustan Mohr also homered, a solo shot, for Wichita and finished the game 1-for-4.

Lincoln 8, Sioux Falls 4

Five different Lincoln hitters recorded multi-hit games in an 8-4 win over Sioux Falls. LF Gavin Dickey led the Lincoln offense, going 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles, a stolen base and two runs scored. Saltdogs 1B Phil Hawke also had a good game, going 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI. Lincoln reliever Adam Daniels was credited with the win after 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief. With the victory, Daniels ran his mark to 5-2 on the year. The Saltdogs remain 1.5 games up on St. Paul for the top spot in the North Division second half standings.

St. Paul 6, El Paso 5

St. Paul 1B Jason Cooper belted a pair of home runs and finished the game 2-for-4 with three RBI to lead the Saints to a 6-5 win against El Paso. St. Paul reliever Kyle Foster earned his fourth victory of the season thanks to 2 2/3 scoreless innings. Saints reliever Jim Brower earned a save in his first appearance in a St. Paul uniform. He allowed one hit in two innings of work. El Paso 1B Juan Camacho was 2-for-5 with a pair of doubles and two RBI in the losing effort. His two doubles bring his league-leading total to 30 on the season.

Grand Prairie 7, Shreveport-Bossier 2

The Grand Prairie AirHogs escaped with a 7-2 win despite a scare in the ninth when Shreveport-Bossier was able to load the bases with no one out. But the AirHogs then called on their closer, James Morrison, who induced a pop out and two strikeouts to seal the win and earn his 14th save. Grand Prairie trailed 2-0 entering the seventh inning, but scored twice to tie the game and added five more runs in the eighth to go up 7-2 and held on from there to the victory.
