Grand Prairie 5, Wichita 4

The Wingnuts scored three runs in the top of the eighth inning to threaten the AirHogs late. But Grand Prairie reliever Justin Dowdy threw a one-hit ninth inning to seal the 5-4 victory for the AirHogs. Dowdy - who entered after the runs scored in the eighth - stuck out two Wichita batters and now has 24 Ks on the year with nine walks. The AirHogs entered the bototm of the sixth tied at one. But two-run homers from DH Brian Myrow and LF David Thomas in the sixth and seventh innings gave Grand Prairie the momentum and enough runs for Dowdy and the rest of the AirHogs bullpen to pull out a victory. Myrow and Thomas combined to go 4-for-7 with two runs and four RBI. Wingnuts RF David Peralta doubled in the first two runs of Wichita's three-run eighth but went just 1-for-4 against Grand Prairie pitching.

Amarillo 12, Worcester 2

The Worcester Tornadoes of the Can-Am League never got going on offense Tuesday night while the Sox had little trouble plating runs. The Sox defeated Worcester, 12-2. Worcester led, 1-0, after the top of the fourth inning. But after Amarillo tied the score in the bottom of the frame, the runs just kept on coming. The Sox plated three runs apiece in the fifth and sixth innings before a five-run seventh nearly put the game to bed. Amarillo 2B Jake Opitz hit his first home run of the year - the lone fourth-inning run for the Sox - to highlight a 3-for-4, three-run night. Tornadoes 2B Brandon Pinckney scored a run and went 2-for-5, joining CF Jerod Edmondson as the only Worcester batsmen with multiple hits. Four Tornadoes picked up at least two base knocks.

Fargo-Moorhead 5, Winnipeg 3

RedHawks C Ryan Delgado entered Tuesday night's contest against Winnipeg with 15 doubles on the season. It was his 16th, however, that proved too much for the Goldeyes to overcome. With Winnipeg leading, 3-2, and the bases loaded in the top of the ninth inning, Delgado cleared the bases with a two-bagger and sent Fargo-Moorhead to a 5-3 victory. Delgado went 2-for-5 and is now batting .307 on the year. The Goldeyes used a three-RBI triple from 2B Price Kendall to swing the momentum in their favor just two innings earlier. But the home team didn't score another run, and RedHawks reliever Tom Boleska threw a perfect ninth to seal the Fargo-Moorhead victory. Boleska struck out one Winnipeg batter, bringing his season total to 26.

Sioux City 4, Gary SouthShore 3 (10 innings)

Explorers 2B Brian Bistagne hit his third home run, going 1-for-4 in the nine hole Tuesday against Gary SouthShore. But it was his 10th-frame appearance - a trip to the batter's box that turned out not to be an official at-bat - that proved the difference. Bistagne stepped to the plate with 3B Wally Backman just 90 feet from home, sending a fly ball deep enough to right field to bring Backman in on the sacrifice and give Sioux City a 4-3, extra-innings victory. Backman, who went 1-for-4 on the night, doubled to open the 10th in explosive fashion. The RailCats got three hits, a run and an RBI from C Craig Maddox, who lacked only a home run in the quest for the cycle. Maddox now has five doubles and three triples on the season.

Kansas City 6, Sioux Falls 4

The T-Bones rallied from an early, 4-0 hole, eventually pulling ahead of the Pheasants in the sixth inning and winning, 5-4. Kansas City got home runs from 3B Enrique Cruz and C Bubby Williams to pace the comeback effort. The round-trippers - both solo shots - were the only hits of the night for Kansas City duo. Sioux Falls plated three runs in the first inning, but managed just one more the rest of the night while the T-Bones played nearly perfect come-from-behind baseball. At the plate for the Pheasants, only 2B Joe Anthonsen had multiple hits, going 3-for-3 with a walk. Anthonsen, however, never reached home safely.

St. Paul 12, Lincoln 3 (Completion of suspended game from June 20)

The Saints did something tricky Tuesday night. They maintained two week-old momentum, scoring four runs to Lincoln's one and turning an 8-2 lead into a 12-3 victory. Leading the way for the Saints, Ronnie Bourquin went 3-for-4 with two runs and a game-high four RBI. For Lincoln, C Salomon Manriquez had two hits but was replaced to start the game Tuesday. No other Lincoln player had multiple base knocks in the contest.

St. Paul 6, Lincoln 6 (Regularly scheduled game - In progress - Bottom 8)

In Tuesday's regularly scheduled contest between St. Paul and Lincoln, the Saltdogs and Saints are tied at six runs apiece in the bottom of the eighth.

Laredo 2, El Paso 1 (In progress - Delayed - Top 6)

The Lemurs of Laredo lead El Paso, 2-1, with rain delaying the contest in the top of the sixth inning.
