Sioux Falls 13, St. Paul 6
The Sioux Falls Pheasants finish off the three-game sweep of the St. Paul Saints as they cruise to a 13-6 win Sunday afternoon at Sioux Falls Stadium. Five Sioux Falls batters had three-hit games, including RF Cristian Guerrero who went 3-for-4 with a home run, two doubles, four runs scored and four runs batted in. Pheasants starting pitcher Peter Gehle easily received enough run support to notch his second win of the season. Gehle went seven innings allowing one earned run on 10 hits with a walk and three strikeouts. For St. Paul, CF Jim Rapoport, SS Tanner Townsend and RF Jose Hernandez each collected three hits.
Wichita 6, Kansas City 5 (10 Innings)
A bases loaded walk to C Taylor Freeman in the bottom of the 10th inning plated 3B Juan M. Richardson from third base and lifted the Wichita Wingnuts to a 6-5 win over the Kansas City T-Bones. Richardson had two hits on the day, scored two runs and stole three bases. Wichita DH John Rodriguez also had two hits in the game along with a run scored and two RBI. Wingnuts reliever Matt Nevarez was the winning pitcher tossing two scoreless innings and fanning three Kansas City batters. 1B Hunter Mense had three hits in the loss for the T-Bones.
