Amarillo 5, Grand Prairie 4

Amarillo fell behind by four runs after two innings played, but rallied with five unanswered runs to earn a 5-4 victory over Grand Prairie. The AirHogs struck first with two runs in each of the first two innings. In the top of the fifth, Sox 2B Alex Chavez hit an RBI double, and CF Fehlandt Lentini singled in a run. Chavez came up big again for Amarillo with an RBI single in the sixth as Amarillo scored three runs in the sixth inning to claim a 5-4 lead. Chavez went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored in the game, and SS Jason White went 2-for-5 with an RBI. Sox starting pitcher Ryan Mitchell pitched a complete game and earned the win. Mitchell allowed three earned runs on eight hits while striking out four batters. Grand Prairie LF David Thomas went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in a losing effort.

Wichita 3, Fargo-Moorhead 2

The visiting Wichita Wingnuts overcame a 2-0 deficit to edge Fargo-Moorhead for a 3-2 win. Fargo-Moorhead 1B Jesse Hoorelbeke's RBI single in the bottom of the first and CF Nic Jackson's RBI single in the bottom of the third gave the RedHawks a 2-0 lead. In the fourth frame, Wingnuts 1B Jorge Delgado doubled in a run. The Wingnuts tied the game 2-2 in the fifth inning when 3B Juan Richardson drew a walk with the bases loaded. Wichita then took the lead in the sixth inning on RF Peter Barrows' solo home run. Barrows went 3-for-4 in the game with a triple and the solo home run. Wichita starting pitcher Nick Singleton earned the win. Singleton allowed two runs on five hits in seven innings pitched and also fanned five hitters. Josh Dew worked a scoreless ninth to earn the save for Wichita.

Kansas City 11, Sioux City 9

The Kansas City T-Bones mounted a furious comeback, scoring two runs in the seventh and five runs in the eighth to claim an 11-9 victory over the Sioux City Explorers. Kansas City grabbed a 4-0 lead by plating two runs in the third inning, and tallying two more in the bottom of the fourth. Sioux City then exploded for a seven-run fifth inning to claim the lead. As part of the seven-run inning, RF Derek Schermerhorn hit a two-RBI single, and LF Ray Serrano blasted a three-run home run. The Explorers tacked on two more in the sixth to go up 9-4. T-Bones 1B Jim Fasano hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh, and then Kansas City plated five runs in the bottom of the eighth to take an 11-9 lead. In the decisive eighth inning, CF Keanon Simon hit a bases-clearing triple. Simon led Kansas City with four RBIs, and SS Jimmy Mojica went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI. T-Bones reliever TJ Large was credited with the win and allowed one earned run on two hits in three innings pitched. Kyle Dahman worked a 1-2-3 ninth to earn the save for Kansas City.

El Paso 12, Shreveport-Bossier 9

The El Paso Diablos scored six runs in the first inning and then survived a furious Shreveport-Bossier comeback to earn a 12-9 victory. The Captains responded to their early deficit with two runs in the second, two more in the third and four runs in the top of the fourth to take an 8-7 lead. The Diablos immediately retook a 9-8 lead with two runs in the bottom half of the fourth and did not relinquish the lead again. El Paso C Alberto Espinosa led the Diablos with three RBIs and went 2-for-5 at the plate with a run scored. Diablos 1B Javier Brito doubled twice, batted in two runs and scored twice, and LF Chad Gabriel went 2-for-5 with two RBIs and a run scored. Center fielder Kory Drew had a team-high three hits and also batted in two runs for El Paso. Diablos reliever Reyes Dorado was credited with the win for his 3.1 innings worked in relief. Dorado allowed one run on two hits while striking out three hitters. Kyle Cremers earned the save for El Paso. Captains 3B Mike Provencher went 2-for-4 with two RBIs in a losing effort.
