Shreveport-Bossier 5, Lincoln 2

A three-run fifth inning helped fuel Shreveport-Bossier to a 5-2 win against Lincoln. The Captains led 4-0 before Lincoln scored its first run in the bottom of the fifth inning, and the Saltdogs added one more run in the seventh. Shreveport-Bossier third baseman Mike Provencher batted in a run for good measure in the top of the ninth to seal the deal for the Captains. Left fielder Alex Cowart had three hits and two runs in four at-bats, and right fielder Bryan Sabatella batted in two of the Captains' five total runs. Center fielder Blake Gailen was the only Saltdog to have multiple hits in the game, and he scored one of Lincoln's two runs. Osvaldo Rodriguez earned his second win of the season, allowing eight hits, two runs and striking out five in seven innings pitched.

Sioux City 10, Wichita 7

Sioux City led Wichita 5-0 before the Wingnuts finally got on the board in the bottom of the fifth inning, and the Explorers held on to their lead and cruised to a 10-7 win. Sioux City started out strong and scored three runs in the first. First baseman Kent Sakamoto led the Explorers with three hits and three runs in five at-bats, and five different Explorers had multiple hits in the game. Sioux City had another strong inning in the seventh when designated hitter Ray Serrano batted in a run, and three more soon followed. The Wingnuts responded with a four-run seventh inning of their own, but Wichita failed to score again in the rest of the game. Mike Conroy led the Wingnuts with two hits, two RBI and one run in four at-bats.

Fort Worth 8, Amarillo 4

Fort Worth racked up 14 hits en route to an 8-4 win against Amarillo. The Sox struck first in the bottom of the first inning when designated hitter Cyle Hankerd batted in Amarillo's first run, but Fort Worth soon took charge and led the Sox 5-1 after the top of the fifth inning. Amarillo closed the game with two runs of its own in the fifth, but the Cats struck again in the sixth and seventh innings to seal the deal. Second baseman Derek Kinzler led Fort Worth with three hits, two runs and an RBI in four at-bats, and eight different Cats combined for the 14 total hits. Three Sox had a pair of hits in the game, and left fielder Lee Cruz hit a home run in the bottom of the ninth. Cody White earned his second win of the season, allowing four hits, one run and striking out three in 4.2 innings pitched.
