St. Paul 5, Gary SouthShore 1 (Game 1 - Completion of Suspended game from June 10)

After rain halted play during the top of the second last night with St. Paul leading 1-0, the Gary SouthShore RailCats scored a run in the top of the third to tie the score at 1-1. That would be as close as they would get though because the Saints responded with four runs in the bottom of the third, and that was all St. Paul needed to secure a 5-1 win. Saints C Richard Mercado batted in SS Adam Frost in the bottom of the third to give St. Paul a 2-1 lead. Later in the same inning, DH Jeff Howell belted a three-run homerun to give the Saints a commanding 5-1 lead that they would not relinquish. Frost went 3-for-4 at the plate and Mercado had two hits in three at-bats with an RBI and a run scored. St. Paul pitcher Jacob Schmidt earned the win by posting a solid six innings pitched with just one run and five hits allowed. For Gary SouthShore, DH Toddric Johnson went 2-for-4 at the plate with an RBI.

Gary SouthShore 3, St. Paul 0 (Game 2 - Regularly Scheduled Game/7 Innings)

RailCats DH Cristian Guerrero went 1-for-2 at the plate with a triple and two RBIs as Gary SouthShore defeated St. Paul 3-0 in the regularly scheduled game. RailCats SS Brad Boyer scored a run and went 1-for-2 at the plate. Gary SouthShore pitcher Travis Minix worked a 1-2-3 seventh inning to earn the save and preserve the win for RailCats pitcher Will Krout. For St. Paul, 2B Justin Snyder had two hits in three at-bats in a losing effort.

Wichita 4, Sioux City 0

Wichita scored two runs in the third and seventh inning, and starting pitcher Justin Murray pitched eight scoreless frames to lead the Wingnuts to a 4-0 win against the Sioux City Explorers. Murray struck out two hitters and allowed nine hits, and Josh Dew retired the last three batters in the ninth to earn the save. Wichita C Matthew Powell went 2-for-3 from the plate with an RBI and a run scored, and 2B Thomas Fitzgerald had two hits in four at-bats with an RBI. For the Explorers, C Ray Serrano and RF Derek Schermerhorn each had two hits in a losing effort.

Fargo-Moorhead 8, Sioux Falls 4

Despite being outhit thirteen to eleven, Fargo-Moorhead doubled up Sioux Falls in the runs column to take the 8-4 victory. RedHawks LF Jason James had three hits in four at-bats, including a homerun. James finished the game with two RBIs and a run scored. RedHawks 2B Carlo Cota collected two RBIs and scored a run, and 1B Jesse Hoorelbeke went 2-for-5 at the plate with two RBIs. Designated hitter Jim Fasano belted a solo homerun for Fargo-Moorhead. Winning pitcher Zach Ward allowed three earned runs on eleven hits in seven and one-third innings pitched. Ward struck out four and walked two batters. For the Pheasants, 3B Trevor Lawhorn went 2-for-4 at the plate with an RBI in a losing effort.

Kansas City 5, Winnipeg 4

After a furious Winnipeg rally tied the game 4-4 after seven innings, the Kansas City T-Bones scored a run in the top of the ninth to earn a 5-4 win. T-Bones RF Ray Sadler went 2-for-3 from the plate and belted his sixth homerun of the season - a solo shot in the top of the fourth. Third baseman Rico Washington had two hits in five at-bats and collected an RBI for the T-Bones. Kansas City reliever Andy Shipman came on in the ninth and allowed back-to-back singles with two outs, but he was able to retire the final hitter and earn the save. For the Goldeyes, SS Wes Long batted in two runs in a losing effort.

Amarillo 5, Fort Worth 4

Despite allowing three unanswered Fort Worth runs, the Amarillo Sox held on to defeat the Cats by a score of 5-4. Sox DH Cyle Hankerd had two RBIs and went 1-for-3 at the plate. Amarillo CF Fehlandt Lentini doubled twice and scored two runs. Amarillo starting pitcher Justin Garcia was the winning pitcher. Garcia allowed three earned runs and eight hits while striking out two hitters in his seven innings pitched. Gary Perinar tossed a 1-2-3 ninth inning to preserve the Sox win and earn the save. For the Cats, 1B Trent Lockwood belted a two-run homer in the top of the seventh inning which cut the deficit to just one run.

Lincoln 7, Shreveport-Bossier 5

Lincoln 3B Brandon Jones hit a walk-off homerun to give the Saltdogs a 7-5 win against the Shreveport-Bossier Captains. Jones went 2-for-5 at the plate on the night. Saltdogs RF Curt Smith had three hits in five at-bats, scored a run and collected an RBI. Lincoln C Pat Trettel collected two RBIs, scored a run and went 2-for-5 from the plate. Paul Koss pitched a scoreless two and two-thirds innings to earn the win. For the Captains, 1B Andres Rodriguez collected two RBIs in a losing effort.

Grand Prairie 10 - El Paso 3 (Top 9 - Game in Progress)

This game is in progress with Grand Prairie leading El Paso 10-3 in the top of the ninth inning.
