Gary SouthShore 11, Joplin 5 (Resumption of Suspended Game from 5/27)
The RailCats plated 10 runs in the middle innings of the resumption of Friday night's game at the US Steel Yard en route to an 11-5 victory over Joplin. 3B Jose Sermo hit a 2-RBI triple in the bottom of the third for Gary SouthShore, and drove in two more in a four-run home half of the sixth inning to put the RailCats comfortably ahead. Sermo finished 3-for-4 with four RBI, joining DH Cameron Newell and 1B Jeremy Hamilton as RailCats with multi-hit games.
RHP Santiago Rodriguez tossed two innings out of the bullpen to earn the win for Gary SouthShore.
For Joplin, C Juan Medina finished 3-for-4 with a double.
