Allentown Ambassadors News Release

The Allentown Ambassadors have dramatically remade the team roster in the past four days, with six players being released and six new players joining the roster.

The Ambassadors released Reed Harvey on Monday and added pitcher Kevin Perrucci. Harvey had an 0-3 record with an ERA of 9.77. Perrucci pitched for Shreveport in the Central League earlier this season. Then the Ambassadors released Ryan Bordenick on Tuesday. Bordenick, who was in his third season with the team, was an All-Star last season, but injuries had hurt his production this year. Bordenick has been bothered by a high ankle sprain on his right ankle for the past month. He was hitting .247 with 11 doubles, 2 home runs and 20 RBI. The Ambassadors added pitcher Phil Brassington, who last pitched for Albany-Colonie in 2001. He had an 8-0 record with a 2.40 ERA.

Yesterday the Ambassadors released Julio Acosta and added catcher Luis Melendez. Acosta was hitting .247 for the Ambassadors. Melendez was acquired in a trade with the Bangor Lumberjacks for a draft pick in next year's tryout camp.

Today the Ambassadors released Wade Clark, Orlando Encarnacion, and Greg Stevens. Clark had a 1-2 record with a 5.84 ERA. Encarnacion had a 1-4 record with a 5.74 ERA and Stevens was hitting .171. The Ambassadors acquired catcher Ben Rosenthal, who was hitting .265 for Niagra in the now-defunct Canadian Baseball League. Pitchers Joe Gannon and Justin Keeling also join the team today. Gannon, who pitched for the Ambassadors last year, and Keeling were also with Niagra in the Canadian Baseball League.
